MPE Reaches 500 MDG15 Inspections

   06 Jan 2016

Maintenance & Project Engineering Pty Ltd (MPE) has completed over 500 MDG15 inspections for new and contract mining equipment. MPE started undertaking MDG15 compliance audits 10 years ago at the request of several mining companies. In more recent times, MDG15 inspections are specified in the Contracts for new equipment and carried out in consultation with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) during the delivery process. MPE has also worked with OEM’s during the equipment design phase to ensure MDG15 compliance from the factory.

Wayne Shoebridge (MPE Project Manager) who has undertaken a considerable number of MDG15 audits said “the practice of inspecting new or existing equipment for potential design and assembly issues and correcting them prior to releasing the equipment into operation, has significantly improved both the reliability and safety of the equipment”. MPE offer two types of MDG15 inspections, a full audit report which details compliance to each clause of the respective guideline and a photographic report which highlights observed non-compliance issues. MPE also offer the same service for MDG41: Fluid Power System Safety.
