MPE rep on amc committee

   18 Sep 2013

MPE has representation on the Asset Management Council (AMC) Brisbane Chapter Committee with the acceptance of Ron Shuttlewood’s committee nomination for the 2013-14 year. One of Ron’s current responsibilities on the AMC Brisbane Chapter Committee is to coordinate the October seminar presentations with the key theme being Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

The Asset Management Council is a Society of the Engineers Australia that is dedicated to advancing and sharing asset management knowledge amongst its members and the wider community. Asset Management Council Chapters throughout Australia provide regional support to the local members by facilitating technical presentations at local seminars, and representing member’s needs at a national council level.

The Asset Management Council of Australia is recognised internationally as a leading body in the advancement of Asset Management, with substantial representation on the committee responsible for developing the new ISO55000 asset management international standards series.

The ISO55000 standards are not prescriptive, but more so indicate a base level of ’requirements’ for an asset management system that allows an organization to determine how it should implement these base requirements in a way that best meets its needs.

Once the ISO55000 series is released in late 2013 MPE look forward to the prospect of adopting the guiding benefits of the standard in a practical application within asset intensive industries.
